Bible Text: Psalm 130:1-8, Mark 5: 21-43 |

Coming out of the pandemic in this part of the world, we are beginning to touch people again. Handshakes and hugs are replacing fist bumps, elbow bumps, and "air fives." How we have taken the joy and necessity of touch for granted! In the gospel lesson this week, we hear two stories in one about Jesus' healing power being administered through touch. One is a very public healing for an unnamed woman, and the other is a very private healing for a public official. What can we learn from these about Jesus and about following as his disciples?

We receive two new members in the service, and we recognize our CE teachers and their work in the past year. (We promised graduate recognition, but that is being rescheduled.)
