Bible Text: Amos 8:1-12, Colossians 1:15-29 |

This week we have two passages of scripture that are about as different as you could want. The first is from the prophet Amos where God is promising to end the northern Kingdom of Israel (NB - not the current state of the same name) because they just can't wait for another opportunity to cheat and oppress someone and God is sick of it. The second is from the Apostle's letter to the Colossians where the grace of God in Christ Jesus is awesome, and he makes everything else awesome, and he makes the Colossians awesome, even though they weren't always awesome. How do these even make sense when we're talking about the same God? Well, do you want the bad news or the good news first?
