Bible Text: Psalm 49:1-13a, Luke 12: 13-21 |

In the gospels, there are a few points when Jesus is busy teaching and a heckler yells something from the back of the room. Jesus always uses these as "teachable moments." We have such a story this week in Luke 12, as someone asks Jesus to settle a family inheritance dispute. (Okay, not really a heckler, just an awkward interrupter.) Jesus deftly stays out of it and goes on to address the deeper question of priorities, naturally using a parable. We'll see if we can learn something from his instruction (hope so!).
