As we come to the end of the Christmas season and turn into the new year, we will mark Epiphany a day early – it’s on January 6 – and we’ll consider what might come in our next trip around the sun. Epiphany is the day in the church year when we celebrate the arrival of the wise men to pay homage to the Christ child and so the revealing of Christ to the nations. Since worshiping Christ and revealing him to the world remain at the center of Christian life today, we’ll take up the story to find where it fits us, or perhaps, how we can better fit the story. This will be the first part of a series for three or four weeks, “Dreaming God’s Dream,” where we will try to imagine what God is imagining for us and our discipleship this year.
We will celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper in worship this week. All who trust in Christ, whether in the sanctuary or online, is invited to participate. If you wish to participate virtually you will need a bit of bread and a bit of wine or juice of the vine. When we get to that part of the service, just follow along with us. Let us know with a comment if you are joining us.
