Bible Text: Psalm 37:1-11, Luke 6:27-38 |

We are nearing the end of the season of Epiphany, a time when we explore texts that reveal Jesus as the Messiah and God's Son, as well as how Jesus envisions the reign of God. In this second section from the Sermon on the Plain, Jesus cuts right to the heart of it with some of the hardest lessons in all the gospels. Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate and hurt you. Forgive, be merciful, do to others as you would have done to you. Like so many of these texts, it demands a response from us. So, what are our options? Where do we get the strength to do as Jesus teaches us?
