Series:

This is it! The end of our summer "road trip" through spiritual practices. We have explored very briefly a dozen different ways that disciples can grow closer to Christ in their daily lives. We encourage you to go back through to find something that fits and works for you! You can find much more information about them either in the book *Soul Feast* by Marjorie Thompson or in the book *Celebration of Discipline* by Richard Foster. (There are a few that we covered that appear in both, and others that may not appear in either.)

We are closing the series with a look at nonviolence. This might seem like a no-brainer, not only because it seems obvious what it means - don't do violence! - and also because it seems obvious why we should practice it - Jesus did! But some study shows that the meaning, purpose, and effects of Christian nonviolence are really quite complex! We will take a quick survey of the practice and what it might mean in our violence-drenched culture to strive for nonviolence and even antiviolence.
