Bible Text: Romans 7:15-25, Matthew 11:16-30 | Rev. David A. Douthett
During Jesus' ministry, it seems that not everyone took him seriously. Our text today is a clear indication that many who witnessed Jesus' work were largely unmoved by it. These many years later, that hasn't really changed. Even people who call themselves Christians have pretty much done what they wanted rather than submit to Jesus, glad to welcome him as Savior but not as Lord. Even Paul recognizes that just loving the scriptures or even loving the Lord isn't enough to keep sin from activating in us. Today we're taking a look at how we might choose more consciously and carefully in matters of discipleship, which, I mean, really, is all of life.
