Bible Text: Philippians 4:4-13, Luke 3:7-18 |

Series:

It's the third week of Advent, the season of preparation for the feast of Christmas, and we reflect on how Christ's birth in history, his coming into our lives, and his coming in power at the end of all things can give birth to faith in us. Each week we will consider that faith from a different angle. So far we have covered Hope and Peace, and this week is Joy. Joy is an emotional climate of exultation, regardless of emotional weather's ups and downs. It finds its birth, not just in change, but in transformation.

Also today, we will spend some time on our hopes and plans for next year's mission and ministry at CPC and invite our church family to prayerfully consider how they can participate through pledges of time, action, and financial support. It's what we do in thanksgiving for all God has given us and in answer to God's call to extend the Kingdom by serving those in need.
