Bible Text: Exodus 34:4-6, Romans 5:6-11, John 15:9-17 | Elder Connie Moore
Elder Connie Moore is preaching today, as Pastor David is on vacation.
In scripture and in history, many of the tragedies of disastrous human interactions happen at the large scale of nations. Whole nations and all their people suffer the consequences of policies set by a few who hold power. One wonders if the Egyptian people knew why they were suffering the ten plagues in Exodus, for example. People living in Nazi Germany said they had no idea what atrocities were going on in their own country. Yet it is only when these sins are recognized that they can be healed. Is it possible that God is trying to get us to see what we don't want to know so that we can be healed?

David and I have been attending training to be allies through the Presbytery and while it is challenging, it is so necessary. Our brothers and sisters, fellow human beings beloved by God in Jesus Christ need us to pay attention to them and their experiences. Doing so does not mean you have to give anything up – except complacency.
Thank you Connie!!
