Bible Text: Genesis 1:26-31, 1 John 3:11-24 |

Series:

Scripture tells us humans are created in the Image of God. What leads us to think otherwise about some people? What does it mean if we think otherwise of some people? Does someone's skin tone or national origin affect the Imago Dei? Is that what we mean when we talk about "race"? How can we address this problem of racism?

This sermon lays out some foundational concepts about race and compares and contrasts them to our theology of humanity. It's long - a lot longer than I thought it was going to be. Nevertheless, there is some important stuff as we seek to be a church committed to the Matthew 25 initiatives of community engagement and dismantling systemic racism.
