Today is the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks, a day of profound loss for our country and for many of us personally. Since that day, as we look back to it, America has in many respects lost its way. While today's scripture lessons have nothing to do with such global events, it is somehow fitting that we are reading two of Jesus' parables about the lost who are found and the joy their finding brings. Is there any connection we can take away? We'll find out.
