Bible Text: 2 Kings 2:1-14, Mark 9:2-10 | Rev. David A. Douthett
We've made it through the season of Epiphany, and on this last Sunday before the start of Lent, we commemorate the bright revelation of Christ (in keeping with the Epiphany themes) that took place 40 days before his passion. Jesus took three of his disciples with him up a mountain and his appearance was transformed before them, showing his divine glory! What a staggering experience it must have been for those three! While we mark this event every year, it remains mysterious and beyond our comprehension. That's okay, because what good is a god that you can understand completely? Nevertheless, this revelation can lead us to deeper knowledge of God's intention in Christ, in us, and in the world.
