Our Blue Christmas service is designed to recognize that sometimes the joy and merriment of our cultural Christmas celebrations just don't fit with the sorrows and hardships of life. We acknowledge our own suffering and the suffering of the world, in grief, loss, disappointment, and hardship. We hear the promises of God to be present in our suffering. We find hope, even in the gloom, because Jesus Christ is Emmanuel, "God-With-Us."
