Bible Text: Philippians 3:4b-14, John 12:1-8 |

Series:

Closing out the series "Perfect Union" on spiritual practices to increase the unity of the Church, we explore almsgiving this week, the sacrificial charitable giving. We look at the story of Mary anointing Jesus' feet with costly perfume and the Apostle Paul's repudiation of his status and influence in exchange for "the surpassing worth of knowing Christ." Applying some mathematical logic, we find that a tender, grateful heart toward Christ leads to a tender and generous heart toward those in need and toward those with whom we might disagree.
See Philippians 3:4b-14 and John 12:1-8.

[NOTE: We apologize that the video quality is lousy this week. YouTube changed their platform again, causing some last minute equipment changes for us. Somewhere in there (I'm blaming YouTube), the video got pretty hurky-jerky with chunks of discontinuity. We're not happy about it at all, and again, we apologize.]
