Bible Text: John 10:22-30, Revelation 7:9-17 |

The season of Easter is a time when, not surprisingly, we meditate on Christ's resurrection, its impact, and its implications. However, the fourth Sunday of Easter is always Good Shepherd Sunday, focusing on Christ's care and nurture for the sheep of his flock (us!). So rather than a post-resurrection appearance, we have Jesus in the Temple in the middle of his ministry talking with folks about whether he is the Messiah or not and what it means if he is. The second reading today is a scene in the throne room of heaven from the book of Revelation. A countless crowd sing praises to God and to Christ the Lamb, who will act as a shepherd to them, keeping them safe and secure forever. Since this crowd has come through the Great Tribulation, they probably like that idea! How about you?
