Bible Text: Matthew 21-27, Philippians 2:5-11 |

Series:

This is Palm Sunday/Passion Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. We will celebrate the story of Jesus' triumphant entry to Jerusalem, and we will somberly remember the beginning of his suffering. We will be reading a number of selections from the Gospel of Matthew.

The sermon series for Lent on Jesus' claim to be the Bread of Life is wrapping up. Because he is the Christ, the Son of the living God, we take this claim seriously and believe that he can satisfy all manner of human hunger. So far we have considered hunger of body (food), mind (wisdom), spirit (peace), love, and justice. This week we will briefly consider our hunger for hope and how Jesus not only experiences this hunger but also provides for it.

We will also celebrate the sacrament of communion. If you would like to participate with us virtually, be sure to have a little bread and wine or juice (or the closest things you have on hand) available for that part of the service after the sermon.
