Bible Text: Romans 12:1-8, Matthew 16:13-20 | Rev. David A. Douthett
In the Matthew text for this week, Jesus asked his disciples about his public persona and his identity. There was a variety of opinion about who he was, but Simon figured it out. Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. Rock on, Simon Peter! Meanwhile, Paul wrote to the Romans about conformity, humility, and service, all of which are still critical issues for the Church. We'll take a look at what these passages together have to say to us as we seek to extend God's Kingdom to those in need.
Notes from the Preacher
I referred to the song "Who Am I?" from Les Miserables. Here's a link to a video of the song from the movie of the musical of the book, as sung by Hugh Jackman.
