Bible Text: Philippians 2:1-13 |

After a week off for our annual town festival, the Waterford Fair, we are back in worship this week and picking up where we left off, looking at Paul's letter to the Philippians. Last time we read from chapter 1 and considered how we can be citizens of heaven. This week in chapter 2, Paul writes about the chief citizen from heaven who became a citizen of earth, namely Christ Jesus. It is his act of "emptying himself" in making that move that becomes the model for his followers to live faithfully in the world. So what does self-emptying mean in an era when people are always busy but rarely fulfilled?
