Series: A Summer Road Trip Through the Bible
The fourth gospel on our summer tour comes in two volumes: Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. These two books (separated in the bible by John) are written by the same author and cover the Christian story on either side of Jesus Christ's resurrection, about 35 years before (Luke) and 35 years after (Acts). We'll find that much of the interesting bits happen on the road and in relationships. Indeed, the Road is our motif for this part of the journey as we leave John's garden to integrate the lessons learned there into our community life. This will round out the four-gospel path for spiritual transformation described by Alexander John Shaia that we have been exploring along the way: the invitation to change, weathering storms of hardship, receiving the gift of grace, and finding maturity in service.
