Bible Text: Romans 5:1-11, John 20:1-18 | Rev. David A. Douthett
Today is Girl Scout Sunday at CPC! We are so proud to host three troops of girls, ages K-5th grade at our church, and we are delighted to celebrate their work and activities that help build girls who build a better world.
It's also the second Sunday in Eastertide. We are revisiting the Resurrection morning again, this time using John's telling of the story. Mary Magdalene comes to Jesus' tomb that first day of the week and finds it empty. By the end of the passage, though, she has seen the Risen Christ! What a mood swing! We pair this reading with Romans 5, where Paul lays out the essence of God's infinite grace in Christ's death and resurrection. Between the two, we should be ready to face virtually anything.
